After the forbidden fruitby gerakdepanComment: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
'After the forbidden fruit'
I found this image to be very hard on the eyes, as much is out of focus, and that which is in focus is cluttered by it's surroundings. I really had to search the image to find the mathc with your title - just don't think it was strong enough. Perhaps if you had only the spoon with reflection in the image it would be better.
As for the desat - does not work for me here either.
Sorry I could not be more positive.

Starting with the positive, I like that you thought outside the box and went for a fork in the tracks instead of the silverware type fork. I also like the strong contrast of your image.
The thing that I find most bothersome here is the lack of a strong focus point. My eye is not drawn to the fork in the tracks. I have to search for the meaning here. If the meaning were cold and void, then you would have me. I agree with other commenters that a tighter crop to the tracks, thus less clutter, would be beneficial here.
I hope you find this critique helpful.

'from here to eternity'
A very nicely composed, simple but elegant image. The post-processing done is excellent - not over done. I like your creativity also - using forks instead of the "spooning" spoons. Very clever. I cannot find anything negative at all as the focus, DOF, contrast, saturations are all done so well.

Fork Artby AndrewTOComment: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
Simple yet elegant. The colors are beautiful. The arrangement of the forks makes for an interesting composition. Focus is tack sharp.

As asked forby ArnarHComment: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
Composition: the utensils are too squared off in my mind. Also - too much empty space around them.
Technical factors:
Focus seems to be on the spoon - which is not all bad, but leaves the knife appearing faded aqnd lost in the image.
Contrast: would try to increase the gray scale, and tone down the brightness of the white.
Color: not much here except gray and blown out whites.
This was not an easy challenge to come up with a creative idea. You just need to keep working at it and try to make the shots be something you would value more than the DPC community. Shoot for yourself first - then for the challenges.

Lonely Forkby nutzieComment: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
When I look at this image the first thought that hits me is what a messy drawer of silverware this is. As others have pointed out - much too chaotic. There needs to be a point of interest - something the eye wants to look at. The fork just gets lost here.
Some of the challenges DPC presents us are hard. They can be a great way for us to force our minds to think outside the box, or to look beyond what we normally shoot. When shooting for DPC challenges, always try to shoot something you would like to have in your portfolio, or hanging on a wall somewhere. I myself found I was shooting just to enter the challenges - then I realized this was not what I came here for. I came to learn, and to grow. Shooting for yourself must come first. This just does not seem to be an image you would have shot for yourself - but something done in haste to make a challenge deadline.
Please don't take this harshly, but grow by it.
