I actually love this image. Not too heavy-handed for me at all. The colors are beautiful, and it has a very serene feeling.

I agree with the commenter who mentioned the curve on the horizon though - that also bugs me a little.

I think this is wonderful. The light plays well with your subject, and the tones are really pretty. Then again, I'm a fan of high key, so what do I know?

BTW, although I like this image, I know that if I were one of the commentors below who criticized the image and you didn't mark the comment as helpful, I'd hesitate to come back to elaborate. You'll get a lot more comments & a lot more honesty if it looks like you really want it.

This is great Kadi - and thanks for posting all the steps. I'm going to play around with emboss myself, and definitely will use the levels trick for allowing textures to show on the white bits!

I feel that the foreground bokeh in this image actually detracts from the picture, because it seems just to be a sleeve of a bystander that got into the frame by accident. Perhaps I'm wrong and there's more significance to it ...

The frog & flies are amazing, and your colors are, as always, beautiful. I'm not sure, but I'd kind of like less texture on the frog's throat - trying to sort out what was happening there made me miss the flies for a few moments!
