Summer Sparklersby kaedemoon267Comment: I would love to be able to SEE what this is a picture of! I like the lines that I can see, but this is just too small to make out any detail, or even to really tell if it meets the challenge. |

Lonely Strawberryby rjpatComment: This photo could have been an 8. The lighting is great, the composition very nice, the colors excellent. What brings the score down for me is your subject. The obvious care which you employed in setting up the shot seems to be discarded by using less than perfect fruit. Neither your title nor your set-up implies that you are emphasizing the imperfections in the fruit. Instead, it gives the impression of being hastily chosen, which feels incongruous with the rest of the setup. Bearing in mind that this is only my interpretation, I'm giving this a 6. |

This one is for youby hjolliComment: While this is a beautifully and artfully moody shot, I do have a couple of problems with it. The brighter of the reds look oversaturated. IMO, the border is unnecessary (though I did not take off for it) - the way the photo is cropped is enough (for me at least) to define itself; the frame is 'extra' and really isn't needed. (Like I said, it's a beautiful shot.) The biggest problem I have with it, though, is that in scoring a macro/close-up photo, I place a heavy emphasis on clarity of texture and detail. IMO, a macro should show detail that may not be obvious to the naked eye or to the casual observer. I like the shot, and in a different challenge (where I would not place so much emphasis on sharp focus), I would have scored this a 7 or 8. For this challenge, because of the oversaturated red and the lack of clarity, I am scoring this a 5. |

Mooby whiteroomComment: I like this shot. It has a lot of character. It's technically excellent, and the unique take on the subject make it really stand out from the herd, er, crowd. 10 from me. |

Afternoon Daydreamby MWittComment: Interesting photo. The destauration gives this much more 'oomph' than most shots of this sort have. |

Taking last pointby Prime_TimeComment: One of the few macros I've seen in this challenge where the B&W really works. Very nice texture and detail. Great shot. |
