That is some story. I can relate to what you say. I have had a similar experience with cats. What a time to try to concentrate on the road, and having a cat going berserk on my shoulders or head.

Now I am inspired to get some dragonflies myself. The harshness is quite apparent in the body of your bud here. If your like me you don't always carry polarizers or nd filters when you've got a camera around your neck, but that would have definitely taken away the whiteout of the body. Still, these little walks we take always seem so calming and fulfilling.

I think that the black and white really worked here. I know what you mean about the way some color shots just lack so much until they are converted to black and white. Your husband doesn't look so happy about being up early, either.

Very impressionistic. Editing wise, there seems to be quite a bit of grain still. One of the ways to clear up some of the ghosts from pixels is to use a lower radius in sharpening and a higher threshhold. That I discovered by mistake. So now I keep the radius down to .1 to .4 and it really helps to keep things a bit smoother.

Very well done performance shot. Your angle is just right to enhance the profile feel of the folks. Great colors and no grain. Always hard to do when taking stage shots. Really well done.

Nice bit of Americana. I think it could use just a bit of brightening to take a way the muddiness of the image, but it does seem to depict late in the day on a cloudy day. Like the composition.
