Some people use grain as a creative tool. I saw a lot of grain in this one. Did you shoot in RAW? My camera has a TIFF setting, and I notice when I shoot at TIFF, the compression leaves way to much grain. It is because the file is so large, that it can't handle such compression, but when enlarged to poster size it looks really awesome. Try using smaller files for these challenges if you can, because it helps to clear up alot of noise and grain.

Somewhat muddy. Hard to get clean shots in the rain, as I discovered with the 100 or so that I took. Did you use flash? Might have added some fill in light on the geese if you had.

Rain Off the Umbrella

Looks like you put a light under the umbrella to separate it from the background. Excellent idea, but it may have added an overcast to the composition which happens sometimes with incandescent light or flashlights.

Beautiful image. The lightening capture was wonderful. A little too much noise in the clouds on the left. Without knowing your camera or any of your settings, it looks to me as though the light may have been compensated too much. It may have also been shot with too big a file and when it was compressed it may have added undesired noise.

Forgotten

The sheeting rain almost looks like rays of light. I like the black and white used on the image. I am a reader, though, and I cringed when I saw the book left out in the rain. Still, the image is well rendered.

Rainy Night

Felt the contrast between dark and light was too strong. I didn't care for the blurred focus on the person, either. The red and white sign also seems to really not belong in the image. Balance of the contrast, closer cropping and better focus would have made the image much better.
