moon in the new mexican skyby blacksheepComment: FWIW, I respectfully disagree with Larus. I think this picture has a lot of potential, and a lot of "what's wrong with it" could be corrected with some judicious tweaking of levels and curves to give it more contrast. As it is, it comes across as gray.
I don't know that much about duotones, so I may be way off here, but it seems to me that they were originally made by adding another color to the black and white printing process to make the grays and blacks more vibrant. The end result was still basically black and white.
