This is one of a pair of socks I'm knitting for my Mom. Knitting socks is really enjoyable - the new yarns make stripes easy and the wool can be machine washed and dried.

Knitting brings me such comfort as does drinking tea - to sit down to knit with a cup of tea is the most comforting thing I can do. It instantly makes me feel safe and happy. I hope this picture can portray some of the feeling I get from sitting down to knit with a nice cup of tea.

I think this subject is very comfortable. I just canĀ“t work out who this person is, a mum who just got the kids to bed, or a granny, knitting for those kids. A half drunken cup of tea whould suggest that the person is coming back again, and the inclusion op a personal item may help to identify the knitter.

Good lighting and exposure, excellent composition. Would be slightly better if DOF encompassed the tea cup, but it's effective as is.

Simple yet effective. The title only serves to enhance the feeling. Good work.

this meets the challenge really well! I think of "comfort" without looking at a title. Nice texture from the window too. Good job!

The knitting is gorgeous, the whole scene relaxing and cozy. However, I would prefer to see the cup in better focus, since it's half of the main subject matter, and it moving an inch one way or the other to hide that bit of table leg or show more of it. I find the tiny sliver distracting.
On the whole though, I like it.

Could have been better with slightly more depth of field.

Nice cozy picture. I think you need to have the teacup in better focus.

Nice window light. There are two subjects here, but only one is in focus because of the depth of field. They should both be sharp given their importance.

Nice lighting, nice subject. All round, a very well composed snap with colours and a scene that portray comfort more than adequately.

What solace do you seek? Calming image. I see comfort in it, but why solace?

nice hand-in-hand comforts. I could use a nice cuppa tea now just from looking at this one!

I like the dappled lighting - very simple and pleasing - makes me feel like a cup of tea (but not knitting). Prehaps the composition could have been better, maybe a lower angle and closer would have made it a bit more dynamic?

love the mottled light but the composition just isn't that interesting to me.

I'd find this a touch more artful if the cup and saucer were a solid color, since the yarn and knitted sock are already multi colored and a tad busy. Nicely composed shot and the lighting is pretty through what is apparently lace curtains?
