Bokeh? Is there anything in focus here? Works well as an abstract.

Good candid with a "story" to go with it. I think it would benefit from a tad of dodging to put a bit more light on the women, but that's just me. 8)

I didn't vote in this challenge, but would have rated this picture highly. Beautiful colors and bokeh.

At last, a different seagull picture. I've never seen one with the wings in that position, and that piece of bread (?) looks like he's smoking a cigarette -- a really gritty, urban bird. And he's losing a feather... That light pole bothered me at first, but it's part of the urban scene. I would try and crop/clone out that partial thingy in the lower left. This picture grows on you.

Hmmm. The background is distracting. On the other hand, it matches the cat very well -- they are all matching shades of gray. The overall effect is very pleasing.

Re: editing software, I don't know what your budget is, but Photoshop Elements used to go for around $99.00. I used it for a long time until my kids got me PhotoShop 7.

Good color and processing, but to my eye, it would be better in landscape format or at least not such a close crop. There's a lot of interesting stuff going on in the background (which I, of course, can't see, so you may have a very good reason for cropping it out. 8)) I'd try and not chop off the car, and including the sign on the building might "loosen" things up a bit.

I hate to be a Rule of Thirds Nazi, but IMNSHO the pier could be a little more to the side. Beautiful processing and colors, and those clouds are dramatic! I really like the tiny little sailboat on the horizon.
