Really nice candid shot. I would crop more off of the right hand side (hair). I think you could probably stand to increase the color saturation a bit too (of course, I usually tend to overdo that particular aspect...).

The image has a lot of "mood" to it, so I think it speaks for itself in a lot of ways too. Very nice job!

Ya know... I kept coming back to this image. There is just something about it that gnaws at me (in a positive way). You know what it is, is that it reminds me of those upside down picture books where you can look at an image in one direction and see one thing and then you look at it upside down and a completely different image appears!

The lines are great and I LOVE the fact that you reversed the colors of the popsicles and shirts - VERY nice subtle touch. The DOF is okay - could probably be a little crisper. The models eyes are directly on the camera and their expressions are pensive but cute.

I keep bumping this up in score, but like I said, you really captured something unique here and I can't "not" reward that - you've piqued my interest and curiosity to no end! It's your attention to detail with the popsicle colors and shirt colors (and juxtaposition of boy/girl) that I think are so beautifully subtle and absolutely outstanding. 10

Very effective use of B/W vs Color. Beautiful leading lines as well. My only issue with the image is that it seems awfully busy (once you get above the yellow line). Not sure whether a tighter crop or gaussian blur would have helped there or not, but I think so. Very nice work! 8

Great macro and nice leading lines. My only two complaints about this image are the muted colors (I think you could have saturated a bit more - especially the greens) and the blurred portion of the butterfly's upper wings. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a real contender for a ribbon. Really nice work! 9

I think I recognize the beautiful model in this one - she's your wife (or soon to be), right? I really like the way you turned this shot on its edge and used an angled line as your horizontal. It also works very well with the stripes on her dress. The top of the wall and the grass seem a little blown out to me though (lighting is too bright), but otherwise I think this one's really cool. Her pose & expression are very intriguing. 8

Outstanding use of leading lines. I wish the snail was a bit more in focus. Beautiful composition. The lighting might be a little bright on the snail as well, but really a nice piece of work. 8

Beautiful lighting and shadows - although it is a little dark (& slightly grainy - except on the hands) on my monitor. Love the lines. Is this you again Nico? ;-) Superb composition. 8

I think this is one of the most unusual and uniquely beautiful shots in this challenge. The lines of fabric in the silk scarf are superbly captured. The lighting is a little bright around her face and I'd have loved to see her eyes open, but those are VERY minor comments when compared to the overall appeal of the image. Outstanding job. 9
