How Sad Is This!!by dphillipsComment: Nice capture. I can almost feel and smell him/her! I do think the crop is a little too tight - I'd like to see the end of his/her snout. It doesn't look like it was an artistic choice of crop at the bottom (I could be wrong), but the other crop sides are great. Nice colors too. |

Old and brokenby JohannesFrankComment: I think I've seen this old wreck in another challenge (not this particular shot, but the same boat). I could be wrong... ;-)
Anyway, I think this is a great shot. Beautifully detailed, composed, and toned. Really shows a lot of texture. The sky is a little blah, but still a very strong entry - good job. |

Before the Bloomby rileyComment: Great detail on the bloom, but it seems like there should be more detail on the stem - it's almost as blurred as the background. Nice colors and composition though. Good job. |

pollinationby SeanachaiComment: I keep coming back to this shot and bumping it up... Wonderful textures on the flower bloom and plant. The bee bothers me a little. It doesn't seem to have the same attention to color and detail that the rest of the image does. Nice composition - I like the offset you chose; it's nicely balanced with the larger leaf. Good job. |

Armedby nordicgirlComment: Interesting shot. Nice DOF and I like the muted colors/tones. I also think the border works very well with this image. I'm not sure you got as much definition as you could have in the "focused" areas - would like to see a little more. Still, a very unique and interesting entry. Nice work. |

Native Honorby sacredspiritComment: Very interesting shot and crop. Not sure I'm crazy about the border (as I think it's off just a shade or two from the main red colors in the image). Bone certainly has a distinctive texture, as do beads, feathers, and paint. I like this, although I think the right side is a little too dark. I think you could lighten it a few levels, getting more detail from the subject, and without losing the beautiful contrast of light & dark you so artistically chose. Nice work. |

Perfect Pearby typologicComment: Really nice shot. Funny how no one else thought of pears, and they have such a distinctive and familiar texture. Nice choice, great DOF, and the lighting & composition are both very good. BTW, are they from Harry & David? (I love those!) |

Perfect Time of Dayby butterflyqueen2k3Comment: Unfortunately, this image is too small to really distinguish much texture. I think it has a lot of potential, I just wish I could see more of it. |

Witheringby mocabelaComment: This looks like a really cool shot with a lot of depth and detail, but I don't think that B/W is doing it justice. In fact, I can't even determine what it is. It could be dried flowers, it could be leaves, it could be a rotting sofa/chair, it could be a worn saddle bag. I just don't know. HOWEVER, it does have a lot of texture that I can distinguish in it, so it's getting a good vote - I just wanna know what it is! LOL |
