No tricks - just one soft light source off to the side in a darkened room.

I still think this was one of the most beautifully exectured shots.

A very attractive composition with nice lighting, color and texture. Bumping up.

Wonderful lighting to catch the texture of these pears.

very nice soft lighting which is great for the form and colors. It is not the best for textures though...a bit harsher or smaller sourced lighting might have emphasized the texture more. a very nice photo

beautiful lighting... the texture though subtle, it is apparent.

Lighting and colour is very good. I like the flow in the composition and the title. -8

This is nice. A touch underexposed, perhaps, but that may have been an artistic choice? I wonder what this would look like in B&W? The "spots" on the bottom right black area are distractions.

Really nice shot. Funny how no one else thought of pears, and they have such a distinctive and familiar texture. Nice choice, great DOF, and the lighting & composition are both very good. BTW, are they from Harry & David? (I love those!)

This is lovely. Very artful! The use of negative space is super and the composition and lighting is well thought out.. I'd have this as a print for sure. The green and red tones of the pairs are perfect contrasts to the simple shot. GOOD ONE 9

Focus seems too soft to bring out the texture. Color is superb.

gorgeous image, love the tones- it's just the crop or framing seems to be off somehow
