LOVE the composition and idea. The image looks a tad pixelated on my monitor, but I'm sure it's due to shrinkage for web posting. This is a very creative, artistic, and complimentary shot of the butterfly. Excellent job.

Love the delicate lines of this shot. Yes, I want to see the little creature more close-up, but sometimes desire can be a used to capitalize on your assets! I like this a lot. - Leave them wanting more!

Really unusual and surprisingly effective use of selective desat. Using muted tones and vibrant ones to frame your subjects is a technique I'll have to explore myself! Very nice capture.

What an extraordinarily beautiful creature! I've never seen one of these before. The colors are amazing - I wish the focus was a tad sharper, but sometimes capturing the moment outweighs technical issues. Well done!

Painting the Corners

This is really an exceptional shot. Man, I don't really like baseball, but the perspective on this is amazing! (And yes, I had to play it plenty as a child - even coached for a while with my father!) I like your use of borders and the lighting, color, DOF, focus are all right on target. Excellent job - and congrats (albeit a little late) on your blue ribbon!

Absolutely beautiful shot. She is not only adorable, but it seems you managed to capture a warm, poignant moment, based solely on her expression. The tones work wonderfully here too. Very nice job (and I'm not always a fan of emotive family shots) - you do justice both to your daughter and photography.

I agree with notonline. The lines of the dark branches do lead the viewer further into the shot - well done. I also love the colors, and again, I agree with notonline that this screams calendar shot to me. Where were you that it's now Autumn? Granted it's late August, but you must be pretty far north to be getting color already. It's a very warm, embracing, natural, and comforting shot. Nice job.
