Love the composition here and the perspective. The colors are great too. The focus/DOF seems to be a bit off though. Appears as though the focus is actually closer to his hand and the railing than his face (auto?). Very cute capture though.

Very personal (almost intimate) shot - you can tell that immediately. I really like the focus & crop. You really captured a powerfully emotional moment. Not sure I'm a big fan of the overall tint of the image - seems a little "rosy" for the mood, but I that's a personal choice and you obviously know him much better than I. :-) Great shot.

I really like what you were trying to achieve here. Beautiful, soft, delicate, and pretty. From your comments, sounds like you learned a lot already - great! For whatever it's worth, I scored this a 5, for basically the same reasons. Technically it's pretty good, it just didn't quite do what I think it could have. :-)
