Cactus Flowerby jemisonComment: beautiful green tones - complements the orange center. Well seen. Great POV and composition. Still debating back and forth about DOF but the glow on the edge of the petals is consistent and superb - might be ruined by more focus there. I just can't get over this shade of green - very striking. Nope - larger DOF would detract - one of the things that makes this image is the glow from the lighting - having the edges of the petals in focus might ruin that. 9 from me - good luck in the challenge! |

Wilted Flowerby yeouaComment: something very sensual about this image. B&W used very effectively. a little too much space on the right but not too much that it is distracting (slight crop good). 8 - good luck in the challenge! |

'hello'by suemackComment: Please tell me he is on skin! I don't want to hear you have a hairy sidewalk! Excellent detail for such a close image. DOF excellent, POV great. Composition good. Outside the challenge, it might be good to include a little more of the arm/leg/belly whatever to give a better sense of place so people aren't left wondering... 7 Good luck in the challenge! |

Mango margarita studyby nomad469Comment: its very difficult to look at food in black and white with any desire (to eat) what so ever Looking at this as an image of an object rather than food, you did a good job capturing the tonal difference between the contents of the glass and the salt and the ice. The drip is a nice touch. I think you should have taken the seed out before photgraphing. The blur of the background/piece of fruit detracts from the image but I like the composition. |
