Bouldering!by PanoComment: Excellent point of view and depth of field. Like the use of Black and white - works well here. Composition excellent. 8 - good luck in the challenge! |

Creekby bbrightComment: I see that you picked some of the ice as your focal point. I'm left wondering, why this piece of ice? Why not the water or a different piece of ice? Essentially, I don't know the why of this image. It is called creek but there is not enough of the creek for me to 'grab' on to. You have fulfilled the short depth of field challenge and the image is technically sound but I don't think much was accomplished beyond that. 6 - good luck in the challenge! |

Guardian of The Realmby GiorgioComment: Excellent shallow depth of field but I'm left wondering - why? Why are there burnt matches stuck in oranges? The image quality is excellent but with such disparate parts I'm left wondering what might be the significance, I feel I don't get the joke or the point. Is there one? A title that better explains what the image is about would work better for me. Of course, if it is just burnt matches stuck in oranges than maybe burnt matches would work. :) Anyway, technicals - excellent, meets the challenge - excellent, emotion/affinity/connection - not so good for me. 6 - good luck in the challenge! |

Frostingby dphillipsComment: This image shows shallow depth of field so it fits the challenge. However the background is distracting and adds nothing to the image. I know we can't always control the background but it needs to be taken into consideration as part of the image. The focus on the frost is excellent. 6 - good luck in the challenge! |

Inner Circleby BrenbComment: A beautiful flower captured well. The softness enhances the image. DOF works perfectly. 9 - good luck in the challenge! |

Cardinalby MarjoComment: Absolutely beautiful and the centered composition works very well. I love the way the branches move throughout the image. |

Raindrops are fallingby ladpupmoeComment: I think I would have liked it inverted - the blur would then make sense for me. But this is an excellent capture - not going to ask how many shots it took! 9 - good luck in the challenge! |

Winter's Cold Reminderby bmoraComment: I have a shot of the exact same berries only mine pales in comparison to yours - you have added interest. Glad I didn't enter - voters would have compared them and found mine lacking! 7 - good luck in the challenge! |

Stickyby Tommy 2 ToneComment: I'm more interested in knowing what it is than in the image itself. However, the DOF is excellent for the subject. 7 - good luck in the challenge! |
