Touchby rscorpComment: this works well as a square. Like the graininess. Tones excellent. |

Untitled, 2006by pawdrixComment: wish the whites were just a hair whiter. Love the character and the presentation. He owns the frame. |

The White Houseby gudbjargarsonComment: in, focus, great colors, nice subject. Doesn't quite work as a square for me - cropping the bottom would really improve this. 6 |

Two Leavesby 2mccsComment: I really love this image - the set up, the composition. Unfortuantely, the large central leaf is either not in focus enough or the surface is so mottled to make it seem out of focus. I would have liked more contrast on the texture of the cinderblock - currently its a little flat. As far as meeting the challenge, this image is one of the few which truly utilize the square; most of the rest are just cropped to fit. Because I think the creativity and use of the square outweigh the technical issues to a degree, I'm giving you an 8. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the challenge! |

Skinby cabaComment: This was my only 10 of the challenge. Sorry I didn't get to comment. Both technically and aesthectically, this is an amazing image. The lighting is great, the tones and hues are excellent. Probably too abstract for the majority of voters who like a lot of sky or water drops. ;) Over looked in the challenge but one of the best. |

Returning from the huntby jbsmithanaComment: For the challenge, I gave you a 5. I thought it was good for a stop action shot (+1) but not off centered enough when compared to others in the challenge (-1). Over all as a photo, there is a blurry distraction right in the bottom center. If you had been able to get rid of that, the score would have gone up to 6. If the bird had more detail the score would have gone up to 7 or more. I don't mind the blue cast at all and love the background; the foreground just took up too much of the shot to get past. I know we take things as they come and we cannot control what we have an opportunity to snap. But some opportunities are better than others. This image, with a better point of view and combined with your excellent timing could have been great. As-is, its okay. Take this with a grain of salt. This is a disclaimer to state this is solely my opinion and not to be taken as knowledgeable or true. Do with it as you wish. :) |

wintry walkby xtineComment: Another underrated image. Ubique is right. This is another of those images I wish I had taken. You brought out the scene and the emotion beautifully with your post processing. |
