	shasta.jpg by Mal37 Comment: A snoot is a long tube or box attached to the front of a strobe or flash. It constricts the spread of light to a narrow beam, like a spotlight. In this case I used the hard direct light to bring out the flowers texture while not lighting the stems and leaves. Here's almost the same shot with daylight only:
