Not going Anywhere!by PointComment: B&W is nice for this subject. It's similar to another submission from this week and for my tastes, though, there needs to be more of the environment. It's obviously a train, but what makes it worth noting? I can't help but wonder if there is something off to either side that would help draw attention to the specialness of this particular train. |

The old Grand Falls Bridgeby JackoComment: Nicely saturated colors. Stone structure definitely looks old and weathered and contrasts nicely with the blue sky. |

rampartby zacowacoComment: This has a nice tranquil mood to it with the saturated greens and diffused lighting. My eyes follow the subject throughout the entire frame letting me take in everything. Excellent. |

Old Power Stationby lisaeComment: Very strong foreground. I think the photo really benefits from the building and related structures being thrown into shadow against the bright cloudy sky. The strong lines of the middle building and the diagonals of the ramp really hold my attention. Great job. |

The Interchangeableby spidermanComment: I love this photo! Great use of lighting and filling the frame with a part of the rifle that is immediately identifiable. Looks great against the black background. Excellent work! |

Time of Death: 12:11by rdesaiComment: This is nicely framed and the red background works because of the red tip of the second hand pointing in the direction of the background. I guess the texture of the background works too since the watch is somewhat weathered and not smooth. |

Kettleby jkiolbasaComment: I like this simple but strong composition. Nice framing but it seems that the kettle could be sharper or more in focus. |

Yester Yearsby spillerComment: Keeping the fallen/broken tree in the background behind the truck was a good idea since it is about the same color as the body of the truck it kind of acts as an extension of the truck as the main subject. Using the greens to frame all around is nice too. |

Remnantby KarenBComment: This is pretty nice. It looks like a wide depth of field (DOF) was used since most everything looks to be pretty much in focus. If your camera allows you to set your aperture it may be interesting to see what results you get with a narrow DOF (higher aperture number) while focusing on the building to put the foreground leaves out of focus and blur them creating an intersting border. (Sorry if you already knew the terms, it's just a habit from teaching) |
