I could have submitted a similar shot had this been the best of 1995 :)

I remember this guy well when I toured Pompeii a decade ago. If I'm not mistaken, this is a plaster cast they made by pouring the plaster into holes where bodies had been surrounded by lava. The belt on this guy indicated that he was a slave. I'd love to go back there with the aid of a digital camera -- I took lots of shots the first time around, but I'm sure I'd fill a few cards nowadays!
