		| A very interesting angle, and this even has always fascinated me.  It's amazing that thousands of years later, events are still around for us to study.  On a more critique level, I kind of wish you'd totally blown out the background into whites.  The people and crowd you can see distract too much for me. |

		I could have submitted a similar shot had this been the best of 1995 :)
 
 I remember this guy well when I toured Pompeii a decade ago.  If I'm not mistaken, this is a plaster cast they made by pouring the plaster into holes where bodies had been surrounded by lava.  The belt on this guy indicated that he was a slave.  I'd love to go back there with the aid of a digital camera -- I took lots of shots the first time around, but I'm sure I'd fill a few cards nowadays! |
