A very powerful image, assuming it wasn't staged (and it doesn't look like it was)!

I'm not usually a fan of desaturating things like this because people do it arbitrarily all the time. I actually think it works exceptionally well here. I think the desaturation has a symbolic effect, emphasizing the fact that the whole word seems like a dark, gray, scary kind of place to the little girl. All she has here is herself and the guy she's counting on to help her. My first 10 of the challenge.

I like the pose and everything, but her face just seems to be a bit *too* high key for me compared to the rest of the shot. With the rest of the shot being predominently dark, it makes the face seem blown out. Still a 6, though :)

I had to say that I like this version MUCH better than the one you had originally showed me (with the split coloration). My only negative comment on this one is that it's obvious you had done editing in the upper right and upper left part of the shot. You might learn to make better use of the clone tool rather than trying to "smudge" things, if that might be the here. The editing will be less obvious that way :) Overall a cool shot... I like the contrasting colors of the car and the ground.

This would have been excellent if it hadn't been for a couple flaws. The girl's eye is a bit out of focus, and her hand is overexposed... and the shadows from her hand are a little harsh. I really like the concept, though... this is close to being a really good shot!

Were you being serious when you entered this? It's way too small to judge the content, and the only connection to the challenge appears to be the fact that you colored the whole thing purple.

I can't say that I'm fond of the selective desaturation here (or in most photos that use it, for that matter). Turning her skin gray makes her look like a corpse in this case... :/
