Sixty one secondsby timfythetooComment: Trading Post comment
I've not yet even had the chance to look through the entries for this challenge - I'm surprised, though, that this is below a 6. It looks almost "Rikki'd" by the way. The blue is awesome, particularly the water - very rich. I recognize your boat over there on the right. The only minor distraction for me is the building (?) in front of your boat - the greenish color sort of stands out. I do, however, realize there isn't anything you can do about that in basic. As for balance, I'd maybe pull the horizon just a wee bit lower... Nope. Just tried it and I like it better your way. |

This did pretty well for a flower shot! :-) Love the crisp focus on the foreground flower and nice choice of subject as that's a particularly lovely bloom. The bee is a welcome addition as it adds interest but you should have convinced him to fly into the picture rather than out of it - doesn't he understand the rules of composition? Well lit, good color, and nice bokeh to boot. |

Growing Wildby KelliComment: Trading Post comment
Great flower shot! A challenge too early... :-) Works for this one, too, though with such a tight crop, the bokeh doesn't emphasize the flower as much as it could if the crop were a bit wider. That said, this is an excellent shot - the color is very rich and warm without being overly bright or oversaturated; the focus is excellent; and I like the composition. It's not quite the rule of thirds, but for me, the bud on the right of the bloom balances it nicely. |

Attack Dogby alfrescoComment: LOL! I'm quaking with fear as I type. Nicely captured. Well, the look, not the actual dog, unless you did capture the actual dog...
Anyway, I like the pretty pitcher. |

Mr. Hopperby TejComment: I gave this a 9 - I LOVE this guy - marvelous find! I think the bokeh worked just fine for the shot, too. Truly a very fascinating bug! |

Flowers at the Sanctuaryby KenComment: Having just read Doc's comments, I'll contradict slightly by saying that *I* actually liked a lot of the shots with the cooler tones, including this one. Also note that I'm horrible at picking winners and don't have any ribbons... :-) |
