Heh - the light bulb idea popped into your head... isn't that like the cartoons when the light bulb comes on over their head to indicate they have an idea? :-) And I can never get that lightbulb trick to work the way Joey does it either. I think he's got secret weapon tools he hasn't revealed. Your way works just fine - I like the halo it gives off.

I like the idea! I think it might even be cool to try that with your shadow in the water so it gets weirdly distorted. But that could just be me - I tend to be weirdly distorted by nature... :-)

This is neat, the way you desaturated you but left the beach and the tat. To me it says that the beach gets all the attention - we're all there just to enjoy, not to upstage it.

While this may not have enough light on her face for a traditional "portrait", I think it's a lovely shot - it beautifully highlights her hair, and is quite nicely composed!
