First off, it made me laugh out loud - really! So I went to go look at your portfolio - you have some excellent serious photography there, which to me makes this shot all the more delightful. It's fun, it's silly, and it most definitely meets the challenge. And you did a great job with the lighting, too. Your commenters seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. I can't explain the scores below 4 at all.

Keep up the great work, and even more importantly have a little fun like this shot now and again!

Heh! Very funny sign! As far as a photograph goes, it's a bit bland - maybe less centered and more of an angle? Points for humor, though.

Meets the challenge and I like the rust on the bolts and the long shadows. A bit lacking in depth/perspective because of the head-on shot, though.

I love the idea behind this shot and the colors are pretty good (though the sky is a tad darkish). If it were me, I'd have the sign closer to the right side of the picture, cropping to just the left of the "U", but that's just my personal preference.

Narrow Guage of Interest

Oh my! I think you spelled gauge wrong (how's that for nitpicking?) but this is a striking picture. Nice composition with the steam/smoke echoing the shape of the hill; nice color as well, except the sky doesn't seem to quite match the toning of the rest of the shot (though I'm sure it was that color.)
