Gate Abstractby mcraelComment: I do like this, it feels like a doodle on a note pad of thick handmade paper. |

More than just Parallel Linesby AamirComment: A nice abstract study of a fascinating detail - I like the positioning of the central star and the leading lines towards it. |

Election Year Cheerby garrywhite2Comment: This is just my opinion but it's one thing to take inspiration from past entries to learn techniques whilst still adding one's own twist and it's quite another to do such a similar copy of someone else's ideas. Nicely done but just doesn't bring anything of your own to the shot for me. |

Losby kellenhellerComment: I really like this portrait... it's sombre and serious and beautifully composed (with the curved diagonal of the more visible lens echoing the curved diagonal of his lips). Nice use of light and shadow too. |

All That Jazzby jpochardComment: Nice to see a portrait that tells something about the model Background could be much more professional. Skin tones seem too orange. |

Tylerby PedroComment: This works for both portraits and off-screen expectations doesn't it? A nice portrait with a little humour conveyed. |

Model in daffodilsby KevinRiggsComment: A sweet portrait with an unusual background/ foreground. I like the pose and the hat works well with that. |

-LAURA-by AnastasiaComment: Nice rotation to provide interest, nice pose, good choice of black and white to emphasise lines and curves. |

Solitudeby moodvilleComment: Lovely lighting and wonderful expression. I like the inclusion of the fencing infront of him for it's pattern and provision of compositional balance and also for the way it places him in his environment. A really beautiful portrait.
PS I just read a marvellous book called A Primate's Memoirs by Robert Sapolsky which is about baboons not chimps and sounds deathly dull but is actually a very touching story. You might enjoy it. |
