earth-bound misfit, Iby ubiqueComment: The sunlight on the garden
Hardens and grows cold,
We cannot cage the minute
Within its nets of gold;
When all is told
We cannot beg for pardon.
Our freedom as free lances
Advances towards its end;
The earth compels, upon it
Sonnets and birds descend;
And soon, my friend,
We shall have no time for dances.
The sky was good for flying
Defying the church bells
And every evil iron
Siren and what it tells:
The earth compels,
We are dying, Egypt, dying
And not expecting pardon,
Hardened in heart anew,
But glad to have sat under
Thunder and rain with you,
And grateful too
For sunlight on the garden.

Election Dayby instepsComment: Absolutely terrific. Sunset on the American Empire. You've force-fed these elements into the square frame and left it pregnant to bursting. |

skirmish at the borderby instepsComment: What an absolute PINWHEEL of an image! Kaleidoscope in B/W :-) There's a frenetic frozen/spinning energy here that foreshadows what's gonna happen if the dog should slip its leash. Love it. |

the power of artby mariucaComment: You had me at the thumbnail! Such an intriguing image.The total obfuscation of the second body here is quite astonishing. |

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by WaitingsilenceComment: This is a gorgeous photograph, but to me it sings almost the polar opposite of the title. I see the castle, the rocks, the man all rooted solidly to the earth, unable to shed the WEIGHT of being and rise into the ephemeral. And it sings THAT song superbly. Technically, the execution of the image is spectacular, the detailed tonality of the very dark areas allowing them to express both density and substance is to die for. But I don't know what score to give. 6 to hold. |

11) 4 November 2018-London (35)by toutoungiComment: This is a striking image. I'm missing the connection to "11" visually and I don't understand the title, which may be pointing me to it, but right now I am blaming myself, not you, and it's a 7. It would be higher in a FS. |
