I have no clue. I don't know flowers at all. I just shoot 'em... This image is MUCH bigger than life-size on your screen though... Message edited by author 2007-07-05 22:54:20. |

Purple Prairie Cloverby lynnmarieComment: Nice and luminous. A slight POV shift to the left would leave the foreground stem clear of the in-focus element...

Day Fiveby TuckersmomComment: Another example of negative and positive space arbitrarily divided in the center of the image. Crop half the black off the left and yer in business... |

Day 5 - Wildflowersby PrismComment: I wondered when someone was gonna do a non-macro, wide view :-) The shot does seem flat and unappealing, but your comments show you are aware of this... |

Day Fiveby Bear_MusicComment: Originally posted by Kelli: Great colors! I love the narrow focus. I haven't quite figured out how to do that yet. |
It has to do with the angle you hold your camera at relative to the flower; the plane of focus is always parallel to the lens surface, and at macro distances major changes in location of the plane of sharpness can be effected by altering the angle at which you hold your camera. Some cropping will be needed if you want to maintain same POV and alter the angle. |
