Waiting For My Trainby MarcusArmaniComment: Love the way the owl is "floating" there, and of course am just utterly bemused by the incongruity of an owl on a railroad track :-) Almost wish you'd titled it "My Trained Owl" :-) 7 from me. |

dis'con·nec'tionby SeanachaiComment: IN many ways this is utterly fascinating; I find myself studying each of the "characters" for clues as to their identity/business/state of mind. It bothers me that the prominent wall junction is not squared up a little better, easy enough to do with a little skew tool. But the deal-breaker, for me, is that the image seems seriously oversharpened, and I'm picking up fine halo-type outlining of the figures against the neutral walls. That's holding it back from climbing into the 8's, and it will stay at 7 in my scoring.
Nevertheless, well seen and a pleasure to contemplate. |

In the Clearingby SaraRComment: This is quite lovely, though I find myself wishing it were a tad *warmer* in coloration. The rim lighting on the velvet antlers is just perfect. Great catchlight in the visible eye as well, makes a big difference. 7. |

Fire on the Mountainby WobblyLegsComment: I *do* like *most* of this image a lot, but for some reason I am hung up on the left side near-foliage detail, which is throwing the scale off for me. Everything else is lovely. |

eddieby yankoComment: Wildly over the top processing, but of course I'm OK with that if it's done to good effect, which it pretty much is here. At least on the figure/chair. I think the BG is a bit of a problem... Strong image, 8 from me for sheer power. |

Footstepsby shotComment: What an endearing image! I like the way the shadows are merging. LOvely rim light. I hope the subjects have a copy to cherish (i.e. that they are known to you, not strangers passing by). |

Unsung Herosby amathiasphotoComment: What an intensity of gaze. Simple, unprepossessing photograph, but utterly compelling. I do wish the eyes were as sharp as the lips and the badge, but it's a quibble. 8 from me. |

Manhattan Lightsby NeilComment: I like it as much now as I did the first time I saw it, though I still prefer the wider one, personally :-) Hope you're faring well. I contributed an 8 to the total. |

The Birdby FocusPointComment: LOL! Whatta face! That eye looks like a paper construction, amazing.... Bumping on review, SO amusing to look at. Photographically, nothing to write home about, but I'm scoring this challenge based on feelings evoked, which seems appropriate for the 1000th... |

card lockby zeuszenComment: The gauzy minimalism of this appeals to me very much. I'm sure you're getting crucified by the voters-as-a-whole, but I'm not part of that, as I bump you to 8 based on surreal chutzpah. |
