In the Clearingby SaraRComment: This is quite lovely, though I find myself wishing it were a tad *warmer* in coloration. The rim lighting on the velvet antlers is just perfect. Great catchlight in the visible eye as well, makes a big difference. 7. |

Fire on the Mountainby WobblyLegsComment: I *do* like *most* of this image a lot, but for some reason I am hung up on the left side near-foliage detail, which is throwing the scale off for me. Everything else is lovely. |

Coming back, I'm actually in love with it, the sheer incongruity of it. And technically it's just exceptionally well done in an understated way. Myself, I'd probably have tone mapped it up to cartoonishness, and suffered for it. Bumping to 8. |
