Coastal illuminations.by marboComment: Sweet. Feels oversharpened. I'd have liked to see it go the other way, a little bit of softening. The composition also is lackluster. |

Alleyway Refugeby redmoonComment: Pure and moody sense of light. Marred by the extremely blown-out highlight. I'd expect some blowout, but this is really harsh. |

Back Light As A Featherby WarbyComment: An intrigoung composition. The water droplet, however, seems an unnecesary embellishment on an otherwsie puer concept. I'd have given it a 9 instead of a 7 if the droplet were not there. |

The Light of Zarthaby real_ndnComment: A very intriguind effect, and well-directed to the challenge, but the image is marred IMO by very lackluster composition. |

Wallflowerby L1Comment: This is an interesting take on the challenge in a couple of ways: the light is self-contained, as it were, it's an internal sort of glow, and the image itself is "heavy", not light. I admire the image on its own terms, and think it's very well done. It does not make my top tier as an answer to the challenge, but I gave it a decent score. Very nice work. |

Plasmaby Mary Ann MeltonComment: This is very "pure" light and technically quite remarkable. Aesthetically, it's not floating my boatd but I gave it a decent score because a lot of thought clearly went into it, and the result is remarkable in its own way. |

Hole in Threeby samtrundleComment: Great shot sam. Igave it a 10 and was disappointed it did not ribbon. In my persona list, I had you 2nd behind the 3 smokestacks ribbon winner.

Mauveby dartompkinsComment: I'm with Brad on this one, possibly even more strongly than he is. I find the picture quite unappealing, frankly. The soft focus is the least of its problems. The oevrall murkiness of the image is offputting, The composition is static, the unintersesting dark area at the bottom takes up way too much of the photo's real estate...
This may sound harsh, but I've seen far, far better work from you so I know you can improve on this. Unless you're trying to convey murky, washed out, unbalanced and ambiguous love, of course, in which case you're right on the money :-)

900grby arnitComment: Heida's cat, eh? Damned good thing it didn't ribbon, then, or there'd be a REAL conspiracy posse on the warpath.
To those who don't see "new" and "old" here, what is a kitten if not new? And the scale is ancient... |
