Fresh Snowby TommyMoe21Comment: Re: my during-the-challenge comment, I'm pleased to see my "prediction" did not come true :-) Congrats on your high finish with this sweet little sleeper... |

Moonlight Serenade by patrinusComment: It's nicely done, and congratulations. I confess to disappointment that a shot that was obviously done in full daylight took a ribbon, but I'm aware of the tumultuous debate on the "spirit" of this challenge, and I don't begrudge the voters their collective opinion nor you your ribbon :-) |

Dreaming of the Edge of the World by FirstyComment: This shot, IMO, is vastly superior to the "planned" shot in every way. Were I voting on the one in your cooments, I'd give it 2 points lower. The cropping on this one is very tense & strange, the pool itself is otherwordly in a way that would not be possible if you showed it in its entirety and in context. Congrats on your red! |

Fear of the Electric Billby TLL061Comment: hahaha! I'd like to think the owner of the house had come to terms with this fear... If not, lawd help him! This is very nicely done, technically, given the source illumination and the basic editing restrictions. The composition is taut and vibrant. The busy-ness of it is appealing, for me at least. And it's nice to glean a chuckle from these entries, so a good score for you :-) |

Xylophobia - Fear of Wooden Objectsby Art RoflmaoComment: I like this one conceptually, very much. It's skilfully lit and composed as well. My only technical nit is that the highlights on the foreground figure are a bit too hot. Given the obvious thought and skill that went into this, I find myself curious why you chose to have the plastic figure OOF and the larger of the wooden ones IN focus.
For me, the illustrated phobia "belongs" to the plastic figure, who fears the wooden ones, so it seems to me HE should be sharply in focus. I believe it would not only be better conceptually, but compositionally as well; I'd like to see the plane of focus dropping off so the taller woody is shilghtly OOF and the smaller woody noticeably so.
Anyway, I like it :-) Feel free to PM me if you're so inclined, I done voted this one :-) |

DUCKARONI & CHEESE — An Oven-Ready Treat!by Bear_MusicComment: I guess I can't complain about a 21st place finish, but I'd hoped that this one would go over 6 on title alone :-)
"It came to me in a flash of light...", I swear. It's a last-day entry, I was shooting for the late-night challenge, but I had to go with this concept. It could have been done a lot better. While this seems workmanlike to me, the lighting lacks punch and I was too tired & distracted to do it justice.
Thanx all for the fun comments! |

Absolute Still by SkipComment: WTG Skip and voters both! Absolutely, utterly excellent image. Unfortunately it torpedos my planned "Best of 2005" shot sright out of the water :-)
Congratulations, Skip! |
