This is a pretty cool angle. The background is good, and lighting is good. Only thing I think could make this a little better is if there wasnt so much reflection in the metal. I see skin color, camera lens and something green. One suggestion would be to have the background behind the camera be all one color, and to either wear that same color, so that you wouldn't stand out, or to use the timer and run away. so all that is reflecting in the object would be the background behind the camera. if it's all one color, then it wont be such an obvious reflection. Overall a nice photo. Good luck with the challenge.

This is cute. Gives me a laugh each time I look at it. Good on the lighting, background and visual appeal. Great shot and good luck with the challenge.

I really like him. I am just very impressed that he's standing there next to a shed skin. The only way I could have pulled this off is to use one of the unfortunate ones that you find in the road that's been hit by a car. I can never seem to get pics of bugs cause they all fly away, so I have an appreciation for people who can get pics of them. Congrats and good luck.

At first glance, I got a few different ideas. First, I thought. Woohoo, coins. Then as I sat here looking at it, I saw they are all 2002, so that is definately depicting newness. Then I thought, why is it in black and white? I realized that it could have been to further convey the newness look due to the fact that the black and white hides small scratches and slight discoloration. However, I would also like to see this done in color. If the b&w was to hide some discoloration of the coins, here is a trick. If you wash money in ketchup (sounds really sick, but it works) the acid in the ketchup kind of acts as a heavy duty cleaner and really puts a shine in the money. Just put a dab on and rub it between your fingers until nice and shiny. There was nothing more cool to me when I was young as putting really shiny coins in my piggy bank, so that's how I know about that. Anyway, great photo and good luck with the challenge.

The background you chose for this is interesting to me. It doesn't seem to go with the doll, her hair or her dress at all. I can understand this, if you didn't want her to blend in with the background, but maybe blue wasn't the best choice. Maybe a pink would match her lips. Looks like she MAY have blue eyes, but too dark right there to really tell if they are blue or green. I LOVE how the ear rings seem to glimmer. I wish the necklace could do the same thing. I'm not sure if a verticle crop would have been better. I'd like to see more of the dress. The hair definately enhances the fact that she is new. (or at least very well taken care of). You LOOK at a dolls hair wrong and it goes all frizzy. Very pretty. Good luck with the challenge.

This looks like a tribute to baseball and it also looks like it's in front of a baseball stadium. I don't know much about baseball, and in fact attended my very first baseball game ever, just last Thursday, so I'm not sure what the team is there at the head of the guitar. I'm wondering how tall this is. Lighting is good, angle is good. I think you could have gotten in a bit more on the shot. I like how it's not centered perfectly. Nice shot and good luck with the challenge.

This is a nice photo. Is this a new stadium? I don't know much about baseball (only that they have a strike planned for the 30th) so I wouldn't know what stadium this is or who was playing. I actually went to my very first ever baseball game on Thursday. It was just a local team, but they are owned by the Huston Astros, so it was cool. I like the grass, it looks new too. And it always seems that way. looked like a great day for a game, and great light for taking photos. Good luck in the challenge.

What a cutie. I like the angle of this and I like the clarity of focus. Definately depicts something new. Well, newer than most anyway. At this age, there is definately a lot of "new" going on. I have a little one myself, and I don't think a day goes by where we don't see something new. He's a new baby every day. Take millions of these photos. Each and every one is special. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

I particularily like this cause it's standing up and you can't see what's making it stand up. I'm not quite sure if you have 2 light sources there, or if there is a shadow, and a reflection. I think it's a reflection, and I think that it would be a very powerful egg if it were just standing there by its self with no reflection. I've never photographed an egg, so I don't know the difficulty involved in removing that reflection, so if it can't be avoided, I still like it. Good job and good luck.

I definately understand the something new, and having a very young son myself, I can definately relate to the happiness. It is a very touching "aww" photo. However, either a lot was lost in the upload, or it's quite out of focus. The bottom of the photo appears really really bright. Great way to meet the challenge. Good luck!!
