Picture Lightby gcosueComment: I think this would have had more of a connection to negative space if the subject were more clear. The title implies that the subject might be the picture on the wall. If that is true, then your "negative space" would be everything else. The phone books aren't that interesting to me. I think this would have a higher visual impact if you took the photo of the picture on the wall, with only the wall as the background. It's a nice picture, and the wall would make great negative space. Is there a reason for the phone books? They look as if they were placed there intentionally, however, I can't find the connection. The lighting on the "subject" is very nice, and the focus and clarity are great. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~ |

Negative Spaceby brianedenComment: I didn't get it at first! LOL...OMG that is funny. Did you set this up or did you actually see this sign somewhere? Your use of "neg space" is also good. Lighting and angle, perfect. great capture! good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~ |

flowerby whobeeComment: this is really nice. I think it might have worked better to have the entire flower on the black background, but still nice. lighting and focus are good, and the use of neg space is clear, and used well. good job. good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~ |

Oasisby floydComment: the horizon is leaning a bit to the left, however this is still a really nice shot. I like the lonliness of the tree..adds a lot to the neg. space idea. your focus and clarity are great, and the lighting was definately on your side. really nice job. good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~ |

Horseby DazzermasComment: Great use of neg. space. There is a tan spot near the bottom right of the photo that kind blemishes the neg space, however does not distract from the photo. The angle and framing are really nice. The lighting seems perfect for this photo. The focus and clarity are in the right spot. Overall really nice. Good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~ |

Candles in the Windby DigiPiqueComment: This is a nice photo, and I like how you have it with smoke rather than the flames. I feel that this is a good interpretation of negative space. I wonder what the white spots all over are? Your negative space seems to be occupied, however, I don't think that takes away from the photo at all. Is this a WTC reference? That just occurred to me, with the one candle a bit taller than the other, the smoke and the debris (the white spots). Overall nice photo. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~ |

Windowsby JakComment: I like this. I believe that this could go both ways. if the subject is the building, then the sky is neg. space. if the building is the subject, then the sky is neg space. however, either way, the neg. space is very clear here. no mistaking it. I love the symetry. lighting, angle, framing and focus are all very nice. overall really nice photo. good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~ |
