this is really nice. I think it might have worked better to have the entire flower on the black background, but still nice. lighting and focus are good, and the use of neg space is clear, and used well. good job. good luck in the challenge. ~hbunch7187~

Another color than white as background would maybe have made it stronger.

Nice capture of detail, and i like the simplicity of the colors. Two suggestions, though, that in my opinion, would make it a little stronger, mayber. First, move the flower over just a touch so tha tyou can't see the black between the petals in the middle. Okay, one suggestion, cause then i think that might eliminate cropping the petals out on the right. karmat

Hard not to notice the brown on the petals on the white side. Very creative idea. Love the coloration of the flower, overall. 7

Not only do you have the flower on a solid background here but you have decided to split the background into black (or dark purple) and white, and they aren't even which is great.

I like how you put the flower in the black. I wish that it didn't have the yellow in it. Good detail on it. 7

If only you hadn't cut off the edge of the... JUST KIDDING!

The white background doesn't work for me.

Nice idea with the black & white 1/2'd background.

nice concept except the highlights are a little blown out

Nice photo. I think I would have liked this one a bit more with a completely black background. You lose the flower in the white. The flower part is excellent. I would have also cropped it just a bit differently, to keep the flower from being cut off. 7

I like the way the background enhances the flower.

OOOH I like this a lot!!!
Great work Really nicely done. I love the contrast with the b/w and the center of the flower. Of course the best part is the petals fading into the background. Awesome composition and Idea. Does the Neg Space do anything for this photo....YES - great job. 10
