Frozen in the Mudby inspzilComment: poor froggy. Definately looks untouched by man. Not a overly exciting shot, but I think it has some photojournalistic, or documentary aspcets. the lighting on the subject appears good, I wonder if the lighting was a bit harsher if there would be some shadow to help bring out the shape? maybe like a side light or something. Something to try at least. Great find. Good luck in the challenge. |

Catch me if you can?by MorganComment: With the exception of a few blown out bright spots, this is a very nice shot. I like the colors. The angle and framing/cropping are great. There is a bright spot on the wood in the bottom right, on his back by his "shoulder" and on top of his head. The one on his beak doesn't bother me at all. The background is a bit distracting with the white circle shapes. Otherwise, very pretty bird. Good luck in the challenge. |

Unpruned melodyby JakComment: There just isn't enough in this shot to really hold my attention long. The color is ok, but it needs something else to really sing to me. The focus and clarity are nice. Definately appears to fit the challenge, and it's a good idea, just a bit plain for my own personal tastes. Good luck in the challenge. |

Amber Eveningby spidermanComment: While there isn't really much to look at, it's really pretty!! The focus and clarity on the leaves are great. simple but beautiful. appears to have no human intervention. lovely colors, great framing/cropping. I like this a lot. Great find. Good luck in the challenge. |

Lichen, can only live in a pristine environment!by PtmanComment: What excelent DOF. I ususally like the dof to be a bit larger than this, but I think it's excelent. You bring out the texture in all the right places, and the color and lighting is very nice. background is not distracting at all. Angle and framing/cropping are great. You really create some depth here. good luck in the challenge. |

untitledby aelithComment: a couple blown out bright spots, but your focus and clarity are really good. I like the slightly blurred background. it helps to draw attention to the textures on the log. The fungus(?) is interesting. I found myself looking at it trying to figure out exactly what it is. The angle and framing/cropping is good. I also like the patterns of the sticks in the upper right corner. Good luck in the challenge. |

Ice Stormby lionelmComment: Well, since I'm not so sure that that pure white background occured naturally, without any human intervention, I'm going to take a point off. Feel free to let me know if I'm wrong, and I'll fix it. Otherwise, the photo is excelent. The angle and framing/cropping are great. I LOVE the focus and clarity on the ice. The way we can see the stick through the ice is very nice as well. Lighting is perfect. Great job! Good luck in the challenge. |

The Weatherby daysezComment: Quite a bit too dark for my personal tastes. It's just not very interesting to me. The placement of the sun within the photo is good. not having it dead center is a good thing in this case. I just wish there were more to look at. Good luck in the challenge. |

Grazeby FrooberComment: Interesting. I think it's pretty cool that you took the photo of the reflection of the cow, rather than just taking a pic of the cow. The angle and framing/cropping are really good. Having some extra space in front of the cow really works. the colors are great. An interesting shot for sure. Technically well done. Good luck in the challenge. |

Rocky Creek by joannsComment: Like a post card. Very nice. I really like how the snow coveres everything and makes the tree branches droop. Normally, I'm not fond of the blown out white sky, but I think it works in this shot. It's a foggy kind of look, and I think it fits with the overall effect of the shot. The angle and framing/cropping are really good. Focus and clarity are great as well. Great job. Good luck in the challenge. |
