| Pretty, but seems overexposed. There are some great textures here, but overall it seems busy, and lacks depth. |

| a couple blown out bright spots, but your focus and clarity are really good. I like the slightly blurred background. it helps to draw attention to the textures on the log. The fungus(?) is interesting. I found myself looking at it trying to figure out exactly what it is. The angle and framing/cropping is good. I also like the patterns of the sticks in the upper right corner. Good luck in the challenge. |

| Not sure whether the purple tinting was intentional, but I probably would have preferred this in its natural form :) |

challenge -- met
composition -- i like how the tree trunk runs diagonally through the photo.
technical -- lighting is pretty good, just a couple of hotspots from the sun, but nothing too distracting. nice sharp focus on the main subject
impression -- i would like to see the background (especially at the top right) a little more blurred. those needles are just a bit busy for my liking. |

| I like the angle the treetrunk is on in this shot. the way the background is present in the top right hand corner and lower left hand corner is nice, but I think I would have liked to see it a bit more blurred. The subject of the picture is a little on the boring side, but it looks good overall. |
