Composition (content)

The composition is a bit centered in the middle, not pleasing to the eye. I don't say that you should go with the rule of thirds, but some creativity with the stream of water would have been nice.
There are also some distractions, like the blown out spot in the upper left corner, the wiggly blue bits in the upper right and some excessive reflections from the ripples.
I like how the water behaves (shutterspeed) and one thing that I find stunning is that there seems to be a part of a face in the stream of water, just above the center.

Background
The blue/green/jade background has some damage that distracts a little bit. Again, try to get rid of that blown out spot in the corner.

Camera Work (Technical)
Good DOF, focus ok, sharpness ok, good choice of shutter. Might want to try a polarizing filter for the reflections. Exposure is good except for the bright spot (it is really that annoying).

Digital Processing (technical)
Looks ok. Remember that the limit for submissions is 150kb, your picture is 100kb. A higher jpeg quality means better detail sharpness and better color rendition.

My opinion
As it is, a bit boring. The face/eye in the stream of water is interesting.

*Composition (content)*
I loved this shot right away, as I am a sucker for urban landscapes and long exposure roads with car lights. The challenge is easily met, that is not an issue. The rules were broad and the sky is blue, but more important is the nice blue reflection on the snow on the edged of the roof and the ground.
As I already said in my previous comment: Nice perspective.
Altought the title say's that The Drake is the main subject, the eye is drawn to the streets with traffic. I see an urban artery, a city alive.
You could say that the building at the right spoils it a bit and that it should be cropped out, but on the other hand it gives a glimp of live behind those windows. It still has some detail because of a good exposure.
The only dissapointment is that the red lights in the right lanes are overblown by all the white light from the uncoming traffic, but there is not much you can do about that.

*Background*
Nice sky with some clouds, horizon is visible because of the lights.

*Camera Work (Technical)*
Horizon looks straight enough. The building on the right distorts somwhat, I guess because of a wideangle lens setting, not much can be done about that from this position I think.
Exposure is good, there is detail in the shadow of the building at the right, the snow isn't blown out. Good depth of field. Sharpness ok.

*Digital Processing (technical)*
Looks good. I noticed that the file is only 100k. Try to save it at a higher quality, to keep sharpness and detail up. The limit is 150kb. It doesn't hurt the picture here, but keep it in mind.

*My opinion*
I like it!
And I really need to go to Chicago one day. I studied Chicago's urban history for America Studies at the Amsterdam University, there is so much architecture to photograph there. I'll add it to my favorites. ;-)

It looked so familiar, not because I have ever been near Japan, I am just interested in the country and its culture.
The color transitions in this image are awesome, 6/7 different layers of blue on top of each other. Some clouds to add something to the background and some rocks for the foreground.
A bit hazy, but that adds to the mystical/divine Fuji.
Too bad it didn't make the first three. :-(

A bit overexposed, and unfortunately the CCD seems to be unable to handle reflections at the base of the fall. When possible, you might want to try a polarizer with this kind of shots.

Good panning. A lot better than all those blurred subject, frozen background photo's.

Great DOF, good capture of motion and culture. Good exposure.
Might have been a bit better composition wise concerning the guy in the foreground.

A bit empty. Would do good as the backside of a Christmass card, plenty of room to write something on the right.

I don't like the dull colors.
But it's a good portrait in all other aspects. Good light.

Nice how the expression and body language is caught on the frame. The title and background explain what is going on. This is my favorite for this week. :-)
