Wedding dayby MrAkamaiComment: I think your creativity saved this photo, because the background must be a photographers nightmare. The person who decided to put the cake in that place deserves one in the face. :)
Ignoring the background;
I really like your composition. The blade just touches the cake, the positioning of the newlyweds, the hand (with the ring) of the man on her, err rear.....
The exposure and B&W toning is just excellent.
Leaving the colors (I am sure that I see red and green, so it must be more than just partial desaturation) of the roses makes the cake stand out so well. And that is just what was needed with this background. The cake and the couple draw most of the attention. Good thinking!
If it were not for the background I would give this a 9, without that excellent toning & exposure and the colors in the cake I would give it a 5. That averages to a 7, but I'll give a bonus point for saving the shot: 8. :)

Imaginationby magnetic9999Comment: I like it how the eye pops out and the red vs dark tones.
The lighting is very good and the exposure matches that.
Skink color is very good and I guess therefore that the hair color and nice contrasty but undisturbing background color is spot on as well.
The composition is very good, good use of dof and a some strong leading lines with the lighting higlight on the eye area. 9 |

White Nightby LouisonComment: I like the composition and soft B&W toning, yet the scene lacks a clear point of interest. 7 |

Illuminationsby KonadorComment: Cool zoom effect, I wish I could do it with my camera. Nice exposure and good saturated colors. |

Hang 10by shareinncComment: Nice motion capture. Good job on the exposure and composition. I'd have dodged the face though.

Fingering Ghostby kiwinessComment: I would love to know how you do this kind of stuff. Is it safe to put power on a lightbulb that has its glass shell cut off? Excellent capture of the effect (exposure without to much highlight blowout yet a good smoke trail). Cool how the smoke goes into a mushroom nuclear blow effect. :)
(edit: and I see no reason to do a DQ request, as this is a perfectly normal capture, yet it ain't that easy I guess, good job!) |

Smile - it's Winter in Florida!by SamuelComment: Nice composition and subject.
Its just that the colors are bit oversaturated and that the flower is oversharpened (light halos around 60% of the subject and pronounced diagonal jaggies). I could live with the saturation, but I'd cut back on the sharpening. 7 |
