I've read your notes in the forum, and the alignment issue is pretty clear. What I really was asking is how did you get this high vantage point? Is it a drone shot? I thought you cannot fly drones in the middle of Manhattan, but I could be wrong of course :) |

Do penguins wear spectacles?! by rozComment: This is great Roz! The best photos are those that happen serendipitously :). Actually, even without glasses on the pinguin it was a very good shot, love the composition and the light, and the BW processing. But of course glasses are the icing on the cake. Congrats on your win! |

Bewitched Forest by LevTComment: Originally posted by willem: Great viewpoint and impressive trees, but not low contrast in my view. The shapes come out so well exactly because of the contrast between trees and sky. If you look at the histogram you also see a very wide distribution of tones across nearly the total spectrum. In low contrast I would expect a narrow band of tones. I do like the fact that the trees are not all black and still show different tones and detail. |
Thank you Willem. Perhaps you're right and I should have made it even less contrasty (would be very easy to do in p/p). To my defense, there are no black or white tones in this image at all. So it is a low contrast image in my book. Not very low, but low :). |
