Obsolete Hay Balerby jasonarmComment: Jason - I really enjoyed this image. The first thing that hit me was the glow it seems to have. Honestly, that was the reason I selected this as a favorite...I wanted to be able to find it after the challenge and see what you had done in post-processing to get that effect.
The funny thing is - I didn't notice the artifacts the first time around and I think that says something. Either I have a poor eye for the details and just missed it - or - (most likely) I got swept up in the image as art for what it is. In retrospect I agree with some of the commenters in that the image would be better without the haloing artifacts, especially if you were to try and sell this as a print.
As for differenct perspectives, angles, etc...you know what you had to work with and I think it is composed quite effectively. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with in the future.

Shipwreck (infrared) by marboComment: Interesting, but I prefer color to snowy looking grass and vegation. The sky looks purple this way as well. Cool boat - might have worked well in sepia or b/w if you wanted to be different? |

Once used every dayby JohannesFrankComment: Here's the winner - congratulations! Great color, nice DOF, interesting composition with off-center subject. Fun to look at... |

Out of Orderby crickettComment: Oh man - this had so much potential! What happened to the color? The grass looks almost red. Sepia would have been great with this. Perhaps a tighter crop? So, so close. Good luck with the challenge. |

Magic Mushroomby SailingduckComment: I like the way the lines lead to the steel ball. Nice job of positioning the ball off-center. I find the photographers reflection in the ball a bit distracting. |

Summer Walk. (infrared)by marboComment: This is an interesting image, but I prefer color to infrared - it just looks too unreal. Very good find for 'Leading Lines'...the viewer is led thru the image quite smoothly. |

Revenge On Authority ... Got A Match ?by ColeyComment: Cute, but I don't see how this works for 'Leading Lines'. As for this image, I like the composition where you can't see the girls' faces. The time of day this was taken makes for some harsh lighting - the white shirts seem a bit overexposed. I'm sure you had fun with this...good luck in the challenge. |

Serenityby sheapodComment: Snow in summer time? ;^) Cute, but I prefer color (or even B/W) to infrared. |

Barbaricby CorySmithComment: Very intense DOF with nice bokeh...this is a very clever shot. The only thing I see that could improve it is the positioning of the main barb...try putting a 'Rule of Thirds' grid overlay on it and you will see what I mean. The barb could move up and left just a bit. As is, it's too tight in the corner. JMO. |
