Clever idea -- other options for the central orb might be a pearl or a completely clear glass marble ("crystal ball").

The lines really lead into the centre, but I find that, once there, the subject is a little indistinct.

IMHO theis pic justs lacks any WOW factor for me. The lines do lead to the pearl, but the highlights are ditracting in it. Also the dark space under the pearl is distracting.

I like the way the lines lead to the steel ball. Nice job of positioning the ball off-center. I find the photographers reflection in the ball a bit distracting.
