A bad solution to this puzzleby alithenakeComment: This has a potential to earn the spot on the dpc home page for a week. Fantastic find! One thing I would recommend is coming back here (if at all possible and if you're interested) when the weather is better, and when the sun is higher up in the sky. Having the valley better lighted and not having that shadow on the right slope, with deeper blue color for the sky would make this befitting the cover of National Geographic magazine. |

Out of nowhereby LalliSigComment: Wow! I haven't gone through all the images, but I have a feeling that I won't find a better one. Great contrast, good composition. One thing I would have tried is a different crop. Centered composition is rarely the best choice, especially since the bottom of your photo is dark. I would have cropped out most of the road in front of her feet.
Bump up to 10 on second pass. I found some better ones now that I'm done with them all, but this is still a yellow or a red ribbon potential IMO. |

Coming or going???by M&MComment: Simply beautiful! I tried to do a similar rear-view mirror thingie, but this is right up there, top-5. Nothing to suggest here within basic rules, nothing to add or subtract (if you want to, you could clone out that line in the mirror after the challenge), pure 10. |

Orange Rushby marboComment: Good old Commonwealth - driving on the wrong side of the road!? One of the better trails of light on the road, complete with the long stretch and a pretty sunset. Should finish top-25, I hope. |

Old faithfuls road to salvationby hutch699Comment: It is not the book that is the road to salvation, it is following what it prescribes with pure heart that IS the road to salvation. I'll take it that way... OK. Negative space is powerful, enhances the main subject. However, not a ribbon-quality photo. Congratulations on the bravery to submit something out-of-the-box and good luck. |

The Broad Road and the Narrow Roadby abimalechComment: You definitively picked the narrow gate for this challenge. Short-term, this road may lead you to destruction:-) But, follow your instincts and make photos for yourself, not to please others. Congratulations on the brave entry that will definitively end up with strange voting curve, with 2 or 3 peaks.
As far as the choice of looking through the glasses, it is a nice prop, although you could have found some stronger lenses to accentuate this text some more by putting the rest more out of focus. This way, only the rim makes the text stand out. |

Austinby shadeeuaComment: My fellow Austinite, nice cityscape, (a little too much of a wide angle distortion though), nice colors, and juxtaposition of new Frost tower against the old(er) architecture.
However, it does not scream "Road" at me. Granted, there is a road in the photo but it hardly represents a major element that attracts the observer's attention. average-6.
Good luck! |

In a world of her ownby LalliSigComment: I'm struggling here between 9 and 10... the composition, clarity, theme, subject, everything is perfect. The only thing I am trying to decide on is whether there is enough of background 'noise' to consider this an exceptional 'meet the challenge' i.e. singled out photo. I'll bump to 10, just in case. Good luck! |

Eye Contact by jjbeguinComment: Bump up to 10 on the second run-through. If this is not in top 5, I don't know what is. Absolutely fantastic, staged or not I don't care, nor it should matter. Good luck! |

The Smallest Gymnastby bobdaveantComment: I appreciate the purity (i.e. avoiding artificial DOF enhancement), but this one could have benefited from the gradual blurring. Still a good take on the challenge. |
