guard railsby ZenjohnComment: Perhaps it is not, but it sure looks just a tad oversaturated (the green channel that is). |

Sign of a New Yearby anthonyreadingComment: Nice photo, however, tough fit into 'sign' challenge, and the title adds even more confusion to my attempt to have it fit. I'll read the explanation in your comments upon the completion of the challenge voting phase to try to better understand how does this meet the challenge.

12by h2Comment: Isn't your ball going to roll to the right on this green? Or is it the tilted horizon:-) Since it looks like the trees in the background are growing crooked, I think that it is the photo after all.
The crop should have been tighter IMO, to accentuate the sign (the flag). This way it is on par with an average snapshot. Hence the average score:5 |

Signs of Depressionby fadedbeautyComment: Nice touch (with that tear). Like the gloomy effect of b/w conversion. Lighting is good, and the composition is just right for this kind of a photo. That said this kind of a photo does not fare well in the challenges but at the same time it is refreshing to see this 'unforced' form of art in any challenge. |

Destroyed Casino....Sign from Above?by turdaveComment: If it was 'singled out' then I'd agree, however it does not meet that challenge... Sorry for the rant, you called it with your title.
Nice colors, great DOF and sharpness, the image is a strong witness of one disaster. I don't think the image by itself (without the title) screams "sign" and hence the deduction. 6 overall. |

Seating Assignmentby elemessComment: This is familiar...oh yes, the singled-out challenge has this same scene from the balcony, right? I must say that the other one fits its own challenge better than this one. This is Sign, but the overall impression of the photo is average, hence earning you an average score of 5.5 (5 for now, in the second pass I'll figure out if it goes up some or not). |

A great expectation (8th of January 2006)by TOYComment: The same rule for shooting nudes applies for maternity shots: have your model undress at least 30' before the session (s/he can wear a bathrobe or anything that will not leave the marks on the skin). That way you will not end up with these unwanted and distracting marks on the belly.
That said, my wife has been in this stage twice, and I think that I'd pass on asking her to do something like that, and I'd be happy with even 10 min of her time altogether.
Good luck! |
