I like this alot! ALmost was gonna say it's too dark, but then - nope. I think this will place in the top 10. One of my top picks.

Good subject. I am starting to think black & white is detrimental to this challenge because it ages the photo with the subject and removes part of that old/new contrast feeling. Speaking of contrast... coulda used a little more I think. I also would not have cropped that close to the top of the carriage. Seems like a good rule for this type of shot would be to crop as if someone was sitting in the seat. Lastly, I would've removed the rock(?). Hope this helps. :-)

It certainly looks like a very old, low tech typewriter - surprisingly only the second I've seen in this challenge. This one has superior lighting and setup (i.e. paper inserted), but loses points for not letting me see that which would make this more immediately identifiable - the keys. Even if you felt it important to get the mechanics in the back, a little pan out and / or left seems like it would captured it all. :)

Too closely cropped to determine its appropriateness for the challenge topic. It does look old and low tech though.

Hmmm, most will recognize these are not Legoâ„¢ - Shoulda gone with Lincoln Logs! ;-) Good color, composition & cropping. Lighting is a bit over-exposed for me. Hope this was helpful.

Ok, but... he's not 'reading' the books. Seems to me, the book concept would be best with someone sitting in a room with the TV shut off reading a book and looking very engaged. If this shot was in some photojournalism type challenge it would score very high with me. Hope this was helpful.

...by the way, "This photo has been validated." ?? What would someone challenge?

Pretty good entry. Only a couple things: I think the height angle is a little too low and the side angle should be parallel to the horizon - makes me think the Silver team has the advantage of gravity. ;-) There's also a little distracting ghost in the black background.

Very good! Just a few flaws - background could've been some more authentic setting and don't crop part of the iron. Hope this helps.
