A great photo, but nowhere on the low tech range. The comparison of this guitar, to another would mean comparing to an acoustic. Framing is good, bit of noise in the red shadows, blur of hand is just right and not distracting. DOF seems very good for the presentation. High marks on composition, big hit for challenge details.

Solidly low tech, not much lower: easy comparison to modern vehicles. The contrast seems a bit washed out or maybe it's hazy. (Could be fixed with unsharp trick#226 - %=20-40, radius=50-200, levels=0).

A-peeling Apples

Well framed nice color and an obviously low tech answer to food processing. The angle adds a lot to the interest level as does the handle position and the plaster wall's stark bleach color. Only obvious thing I see that could improve this might be the punch of a contrast boost from the unsharp mask (%:20, rad: 50-100, levels:0). Perhaps too the back apple is not red enough for the rest of the shot. Great image.

Not much lower tech than this. I picture the unfortunate slaves pushing one of these around in those movies and it invokes the lowest of tech, human powered. Contrasts are great here, the powdery highlights and sooty shadows of age. I feel cramped in the space here which only lends to the feel of an oppressively unperfected mode of doing things. Good job, High marks all around.

Nicely framed subject, obviously low tech, well cropped and draws me to looking right at the subject. Had to work, just to view the surrounding environ and that is good. The chain pattern on the barrel is hypnotic if you stare at it (Moire?) but not distracting except that I chose to concentrate on it. use of black and white and the resulting border put some great finishing touches on this shot. Nice job!

Great use of a wide, clean blade to create the reflections, color on the green pepper seems a bit desaturated or flat, the red pepper really sticks out and the action of cutting gives this a nice feel. The negative space at the top detracts from the whole, either more peppers are needed in that space to keep the aspect ration of the desired print or the crop should be shortened at the top to emphasize the focus of the blade in action.

Recognizing that some games are now electronic or even video, I have to say that the subject does not really say low tech to me. This is a nice 'stock' presentation of a board game, a lttile soft on the edges, and has some over exposure on the top flat areas. An interesting presentation despite these notes, the color use is inviting, but overall seems to need corrections to those items to really hold the attention of the viewer.

I'm having a hard time with the leap from weatervane to technology although I recogize that we now have weather stations that are very high tech. It's intepretive artistically. The most distracting element of this image is the reversed N-S. Admittedly, this is a result of wind, but it takes away from an otherwise well presented and cropped image with solid contrast and coloring.

Very colorful shot, nice contrast with the wood grain and the background even lends to the interest level. All the elements seem to be in just the right focus. Disappointed in the top area of the crop as there seems to be an uneven distribution of the negative space up there. Perhaps if the tomato was 'lowered' on the stage and the upper corner of the cutting board were also cropped, this would improve. The knife blade seems dull compared to the rest of the shot and may have more impact if it were a wider blade. Overall tho I have to give some high marks for this as it has an eye-candy feel to it that is very appealing.

Technologically low - Yes. Non-Electronic - Nope. Nostalgic - beyond a shadow of a doubt. I like the diagonal centralized lighting on this piece the angle of presentation, patterns, textures and perhaps even the dust or grain resulting around the push buttons. The text is easy to see, this is a great antique-style foto getting high marks, but has serious loss in the application of low-tech use no electronics.
