Blurry mess = Yes.
Subject = Worth considering. Is a candid moment.
Technically = Not really a mess. Looks like some kind of brush selection happened on the hair of the blurry girl, like this was really out of camera. It is distracting and hurts the overall impact.
Abstractness = Nil. More of a candid.
Crop = Should have tried to eliminate the glasses and overhead light.
My vote is a 4 on this. The light/hair/upper-left corner destroyed the impact of an otherwise potentially powerful image.

I like it. Nice curves leading the eye, the Jupiter tornado... perhaps not blurry enough, a bit narrow on the color depth, leaving me feeling that the image doesn't have all the punch it could have. A wonderful abstract however.

Excellent! Looks like a diorama. Just need a few small lizards and this becomes a prehistoric landscape. DOF and background work so well together.

Great focus point, love the blurred background. Would like to see a much harder sharp on the detail of the in focus tufts. Maroon/Red/Brown/Dusty background would be a perfect addition to this composition. Agree that a closer crop would emphasize the feather.

Current image likely to suffer at the hands of DPC voters ending at a 4-5.

Hard to be hungry after looking at the mouse image, but this is really yummy looking! Love the texture. Wih you had used a double stuff just to add some more white to the sandwich.

OY! Memories of the stench left behind after discovering one of these in a bottle. Looks like an archaeological dig. Excellent focus and finish to give a documentary feel to the corpse!
