Overall I like the shot, but I think the way you have blurred the background to create a false DoF ruins the shot. I don't like the way the edges of the objects in it are blurred either. If your camera can't achieve real DoF, you could try taking a photo of the background, putting it into photoshop, then gaussian blur that. Afterwards, display the blurred background on your computer monitor, and place your props in front of it. That way you get a more realistic looking out of focus background without having to worry about using the selection tools and ruining the sharp edges of your props in the final photo.

The colours seem a bit dull and flat here. I think you may have underexposed as there are no whites in the photo. You can fix this in postprocessing by boosting the contrast or adjusting the levels, or you could reshoot and adjust the exposure time to slightly longer. Also I dont really like the border colour much.

I think a neutral black or white border would look better on this photo. Actually, putting the whole thing in black and white would look pretty good I think. Did you try cropping in closer on the knight?

This is a stretch to meet the challenge in my opinion. Boosting the contrast a bit would give the actual photo more impact, and add dramatic effect :)
