This photo just doesn't work for me. The soft focus in this case doesn't add anything to the photo, and the lamp is crooked in the frame, as is the lampshade. I'm assuming that the electric cord is the "leading line", but it detracts more from the shot than it adds, and does not really fit the definition of the challenge for me.

No matter how much I look at this, I have trouble sorting it out. The movement of the flags, and the bright color, make it a very effective photo, I'm just not sure what I'm looking at! Border works pretty well with the shot, and yes, I think it fits the challenge. 8

I've looked at this shot at least half a dozen times now, and it still has the same impact. The black and white is enormously effective, in conjunction with the slightly foggy atmosphere, in creating a very mysterious feel. Fits the challenge very well.

Your composition really makes this shot for me. In addition to the "leading lines", the repetition of other patterns, as well as the good lighting make this a great shot.

Wow, beautiful shot! The color is amazing and the drops of water almost look like they could fall right onto my desk. Can't wait to find out if you used a close up lens for this. Composition is very effective, as is your DOF.

A sure winner. The ONLY thing that throws me off is that it looks like a person down at the far end, and I wish that tiny distraction wasn't there. But that's just me! An amazing shot for sure.

I like everything about this shot - composition, subject, black and white, EXCEPT that it is just too dark for my taste (all 3 of my monitors ARE calibrated). More contrast and a slightly brighter shot would have made this one of my high picks. Changed my mind: 8.
