There is another shot of boots, or rather, A boot, and I commented to them that I wish both boots had been in the shot! I like this shot, your focus is wonderful, but the composition is lacking something for me. I would have liked to have seen something a little more dynamic. I think the shot works very well for the challenge.

Absolutely one of my favorites! Very mysterious and "other-worldly", this shot just draws me in. Almost creepy, and yet makes you want to know more. Can't imagine a better shot for the challenge.

Love this; one of my top rated, though I admit I wish it was black and white, but honestly don't know if that would have worked better or not. Composition is OK, but it's actually the look of the smoke and the lighting on it, that really makes this shot for me.

The odd thing about this, to me, is that I can't tell if it is "real", or if it is a sculpture or wood carving! Very nice lighting, though if it is a real person, I would have liked to have seen more light on the eye. Your subject fades beautifully into the black negative space. Good composition, all in all an interesting shot.

What a truly freaky shot!! I mean don't get me wrong, I love the harbor shot, but then there's that tiny little almost "moon" shot down there! Had me and my husband laughing, I'll tell you! I truly love the harbor shot, the lighting and composition are lovely, but I'm giving you a pretty high score just for weirdness!

COOL! Totally love it. Good lighting, I can even make out the other side of the egg cup a bit. Love your choice of composition - at first thought there was a little too much neg spc, but nope, it looks good.

Love the hatband! I really like that I can barely make out the edges of the hat. I would have preferred a more dynamic composition I think - I find this composition to be a bit low impact for me.

This is certainly low-key, but I just don't know about "Black on Black" - however, it is a very cool shot. I don't see how the composition could be any better, and I love the bit of light reflection in the foreground. Has a very mysterious feel to it. Scoring it as if it meets the challenge, cause frankly, I don't really care if it doesn't! It's nice!

This is a pretty neat shot, but oddly enough, I find the tree kind of distracting. I keep thinking how great that angel would look against an all black background. Love the lighting.
