This photography was quite tricky. It is an egg standing in an eggcup on a black tee shirt. The light is provided by a single £9 IKEA halogene spotlight, carefully masked off with black paper to not create flares or light up the tee shirt. I used my 70-200 lens on approximately 180mm @ 5.6. Post processing is a whole lot of stylizing. The right side of the cup was straight, so I added a bit of a curve to it with an airbrush. I also created some more curvature to the shadow on the egg, and sharpened the whole thing a little.

This is a very nice low key shot. Not what I had envisioned "black on black" to be, but I definately see how it could be considered that way. Since I'm not voting though, who cares what I think. lol
I think that the lighting is wonderful. Really nicely lit on the egg and egg cup. I like how it only shows a slight bit of the subject and leaves the rest to our imagination.
The negative space is great. I dont think there is too much at all. I think that the negative space is what really makes this visually appealing to me. The lighting is awesome, but I don't think it would have the same punch if it were centered in the frame.
Focus and clarity look to be good, it's hard to tellm but seems just fine to me. Had it been blurry looking, I think it would be obvious and non appealing.
Overall a really nice job. Definately a good shot, and I don't really have any suggestions on improvement, as the whole shot appeals to me.
Great shooting!

This is great - how little light it takes to suggest "egg" I like the touch of highlight onthe top of the egg and the rim on the left side of the cup. I'd like to see how it loooks with a bit of light to suggest the base. 8

Nice use of negative space here, and lighting is nice from that direction. It certainly looks formal and austere.

Great egg shot..maybe a little more lighting to give us more detail but not much. I like how you centered the egg. Looks very lonely. good luck

COOL! Totally love it. Good lighting, I can even make out the other side of the egg cup a bit. Love your choice of composition - at first thought there was a little too much neg spc, but nope, it looks good.

this is a good effort, but i think you're lacking interest in the subject matter. also, i think maybe just a little more light to give some more contrast to the top and sides of the egg would make this a little better. for some reason, i think i'd also rather see the egg on the other side of the frame, but i'm not sure. seems less balanced the way it is. 5.
